C&C Cages

Over the last few years, C&C Cages have recently became very popular for housing guinea pigs. C&C stands for cubes and coroplast, because the "container" is made out of coroplast, and the perimeter is made out of storage grids. Coroplast is corrugated plastic; corrugated plastic is a very strong type of plastic, that is similar to cardboard. Coroplast can be purchased in many places, and can come in several different colors.

Making a C&C Cage

Making a C&C Cage is very simple and fast, but finding the materials may not be. To make a C&C Cage, you will need: Storage Cubes, Corrugated Plastic, Scissors, and Duck Tape. You can also use zip-ties to help secure the storage grids together.

Finding the materials

Storage Cubes
Wal-Mart
Canadian Tire
Target (make sure you get the ones with 9 grids, and not 6)

Corrugated Plastic (Coroplast)
Sign Shops
Rona
Home Depot
Home Hardware

Making a C&C Cage

1) Take out the storage cubes you bought, and connect them together to the desired size you want.
2) Put the connected storage grids on top of the corrugated plastic and add 6 inches to it (the sides).
3) Cut out the shape with the 6 inches added on, and score the size of perimeter of the storage grids.
4) Cut 6 inches into each edge, and fold it up to create a box like container.
5) Secure the edges with duck tape.
6) Place the box into the storage grids, and you are now done!
